{"id":162,"date":"2021-04-06T11:38:45","date_gmt":"2021-04-06T09:38:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aphr.ifil.uz.zgora.pl\/?p=162"},"modified":"2021-04-06T16:01:27","modified_gmt":"2021-04-06T14:01:27","slug":"platonic-concept-of-reincarnation-in-polish-philosophy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.aphr.ifil.uz.zgora.pl\/?p=162","title":{"rendered":"Platonic Concept of Reincarnation in Polish Philosophy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aphr.ifil.uz.zgora.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/cover_issue_2082_pl_PL-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The latest issue of &#8220;Studia z Historii Filozofii&#8221; (<em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/apcz.umk.pl\/czasopisma\/index.php\/szhf\/index\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/apcz.umk.pl\/czasopisma\/index.php\/szhf\/index\" target=\"_blank\">Studies in the History of Philosophy<\/a><\/em>, vol. 12, iss. 1) includes a paper by Adrian Habura on an episode in Polish reception of Plato&#8217;s theory of reincarnation or transmigration of souls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Habura aims to present Stanis\u0142aw Lisiecki\u02bcs interpretation and assessment of Plato\u2019s concept of metempsychosis, and then position his work against the background of diverse results of W. Lutos\u0142awski and P. Siwek. Lisiecki\u02bcs reflection on Plato, and especially on his theory of reincarnation, proves that he was an unfairly forgotten scholar, who had had knowledge, capabilities and diligence sufficient to grant him a well-deserved place in Polish historiography and reception of Greek philosophy. Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances, including Lisiecki&#8217;s abandonment of Catholic clergy and his uncertainty of the value of his own work, he worked on margins of Polish academic life in the interwar period.
