This time we want to report on an Erasmus+ teaching visit of a Lithuanian scholar, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsf.vu.lt\/en\/research-institute-of-philosophy\/philosophy-institute-staff\/4842-mindaugas-stoskus\">Mindaugas Sto\u0161kus<\/a> from Vilnius, in the Institute of Philosophy (UZ). He was our guest between 10th and 14th of April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\">Among dr Sto\u0161kus&#8217; teaching acitivities, there was a lecture titled:<br>What Can We Learn from the Ancient Concept of Wisdom?<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aphr.ifil.uz.zgora.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_7108.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-818\" style=\"width:603px;height:auto\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.aphr.ifil.uz.zgora.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_7108.jpeg 800w, http:\/\/www.aphr.ifil.uz.zgora.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_7108-300x225.jpeg 300w, http:\/\/www.aphr.ifil.uz.zgora.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_7108-768x576.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right has-medium-font-size\">This lecture was delivered twice, during the classes of Philosophical Counselling (above on the photo by A. Habura) and on the course of the History of Ancient Philosophy. At the beginning of his lecture, Dr. Sto\u0161kus discussed etymological issues, focusing on the very notion of wisdom. The he took an attempt to enumerate the attributes of the wise man, as the Greeks saw them. They included, for example, knowledge, experience, ability to justify judgments, and desire to disseminate wisdom. Dr. Sto\u0161kus discerned philosophical wisdom from its sophistic version and, in conclusion, emphasised the essential connection between theory and practice of wisdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Greek philosophy still fares well!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Connections between Ancient \u03a6ilosophy Reception research group at the University of Zielona G\u00f3ra and the scholars of Vilnius University have been many times documented on this website.
